Meet Our Members:
Paul Ruesink
Paul has been on the RVLT board since 1996, and has served as treasurer for over two years. He is the fourth generation of his family to farm in Adrian Township. He feels fortunate to still be connected with farming. He now leases his Centennial Farm to his cousin, but still enjoys some hands-on involvement. Since receiving his master’s degree in Business and Finance, Paul has held several notable positions related to agriculture and financial management. For five years he worked for MSU Extension as District Business Management Educator for southeast Michigan. Paul is a member of the First United Methodist Church. Community involvement comes naturally to him. A short list of groups he has served on includes the Chamber of Commerce Board, YMCA Board, 4-H Animal Association Board, Adrian Rotary Club, “A Sense of Place” Advisory Committee, and the Adrian Township Planning Commission, where he serves as Secretary. He is concerned about the loss of open space in the township. His approach to planning is to look forward and plan for a township that is rural by design, using modern planning tools. To be successful, he knows that active citizen participation is required, and encourages everyone to become involved.
