Member News: Marriage Turns into RVLT Fundraiser

On September 2nd RVLT board member Paul Ruesink married Allison MacArthur-Brown. In lieu of gifts they preferred that donations be made to two charities, the RVLT and the Stubnitz Foundation of Adrian. Each group received $925. Paul and Allison should be congratulated on two counts: their marriage, of course, and for their thoughtful generosity.

The RVLT encourages everyone to consider this option when having a special event at which gifts are usually expected — for any group or cause that you wish to support. Most newlyweds can probably use a lot of things, but Allison and Paul felt that good wishes could best be expressed by contributions to a worthy cause. There are lots of exciting things coming down the pike, and having funds to cover the necessary costs of our work will enable us to expand our efforts. THANK YOU Paul and Allison!

In September Director Wayne Kirkby and his wife retired to New Mexico. He served on the RVLT board for five years. In the past few years he has been instrumental in helping draft and negotiate conservation easements with landowners who want to preserve their property. We just completed an easement that Wayne did most of the work on, and are continuing to work on two others that Wayne got started. In the meantime, we are looking for someone to serve the remaining two years of Wayne’s term. We are especially interested in someone who has experience in legal and/or real estate affairs and can help fill the shoes that Wayne left behind. Please give us a call or drop us a note if you are interested.
