River Raisin Greenway Project

he River Raisin Greenway Project received a $26,000 grant from the Stubnitz Foundation to explore extending a trailway that currently begins in Adrian at Trestle Park. The idea is to extend the trail northward to Tecumseh and Clinton along the River Raisin, and possibly into Washtenaw county, providing public access to the river along the way. A consultant has been hired to study possible routes and to get public input. Organizational meetings are being held in November in Adrian, Tecumseh and Clinton. An interlocal agency of interested local governments has been formed to guide the process. A meeting to report the findings from the three area meetings is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Wed., Dec. 6th, in the Glass Room of the Tecumseh Community Center. For more information on the Clinton and Bridgewater township area, contact Jan Pittman, 517-456-4837. In the Tecumseh area contact Pat Sorise, 517-423-5602. In the Adrian area contact Mark Gasche, 517-263-2161.
