Meet Our New Board Member

Linda Kendall Linda Kendall came to Michigan to attend college in the mid-1970’s. Studying the effects of groundwater contamination in those days, she began to appreciate the delicate beauty of the Lower Peninsula’s flat, wet, wild places. She soon joined Greenpeace Great Lakes, and learned to work with other organizations and state agencies participating in public hearings that eventually produced the Clean Water Act and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.

She has maintained an interest in protecting the local environment throughout her 25 years in Washtenaw County. In 1997, she and her husband Peter Knox purchased a home on 20 acres in Manchester Township, where they are working to restore pre-settlement flora. This spring they acquired an adjoining 25 acres, where they hope to raise seed for native grasses. Their efforts are partially documented at www.umich.edu/~pknox/twentyacres.

Linda has also continuously participated in non-profit environmental and arts organizations, serving as volunteer, staff member and board member. Professionally, she is a technology consultant employed by the University of Michigan to assist faculty members as they develop innovative teaching and learning strategies. RVLT’s newest board member, she hopes her energy and experience will be of service, especially to increase the organization’s presence in the community.
